The story
A stud book you can wear.
In the 1890s a book of the breeds showed each breed by one real horse: photographed, then engraved for the page line by line, its name beneath. Horses by miniblank prints those plates, each one its own horse, with its name.

33 breeds.
From the Arabian and the Barb to the Shire and the Shetland pony: four families, 33 breeds, each with its own page. Plates for the back, engravings for the chest. Most of the horses are named: Khamide, Kif-Kif, Tristan, Vulcan.
The colours of the horse.
Breeders name a horse by its coat: a bay is never brown, a grey is never white. Twelve coats, each with its one line, one at a time on the chest or all twelve on the back.
In motion.
In 1887 Eadweard Muybridge photographed horses moving free, frame after frame, and showed for the first time how a horse really trots and walks. Two of his horses are here: Eagle, the grey at the trot, and Hansel, the Belgian draught horse.

Nothing invented.
No drawings made for the shop, no logos. The engravings and photographs are in the public domain; we restore them from scans of the pages and keep every name and number as it was printed.
